Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala
Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala, a leading laparoscopic, GI and bariatric surgeon, is the founder of DHI and is at present the Director of General Surgery at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. With over 50,000 surgeries performed globally, he has received numerous awards, including Best Surgeon in the World (ASMBS, 2019) and Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year (2017). He was the Honorary Surgeon to the Vice President of India and is an honorary member of multiple National and International Surgical Societies. During COVID-19, he led efforts to treat over 10,000 patients in Mumbai at the NSCI Dome Worli. He continues to play a key role in obesity treatment and public health initiatives for the state. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in Bio Design from Stanford University.
